CM to kick off a mega Krishi Mahotsav of South Gujarat at Nana Pondha in Valsad district: An impressive agriculture exhibition and Cattle Health Camp to be inaugurated

Gujarat Chief Minister NarendraModi will inaugurate a mega KrishiMahotsav of seven districts of South Gujarat at tribal dominated Nana Pondha village of Valsad district on May 17th, wherehe will give away cash awards over Rs. 60 lakh to 11 progressive farmers of south Gujarat, who have applied modern technology and new methods in agriculture.

He will felicitate 4 peasants with Sardar Patel Agriculture award and give away Agriculture Technology Management Award (ATMA) to three farmers for their extra-ordinary contribution inthe field of agriculture. The Chief Minister will inaugurate an impressive exhibition, contains over sixty stalls, depicting new methods of farming, research and value-addition technology in agriculture. He will inaugurate a Cattle Health Camp and also release a souvenir being published by Agriculture University. Administration has organizeda competition for best fruits & vegetables growers, where the best producers will be given away awards.

Thousands of farmers from Surat, Narmada, Bharuch, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi and Dangs districts will participate in this mega zonal Mahotsav.Valsad district administration is on the toes under the guidance of Collector L. C. Patel to make this event a success.

Chief Minister will also attend a grand mass-marriage function at Zankhvav village of Mangroltaluka in Surat district on the same day, where mass-marriages of 251 couples will be solemnized amid showering of petals from a helicopter. Each couple will be given away Rs. 10 thousand cash awards under Gujarat Government’s “KunvarBai Nu Mameru” scheme. The organizers will provide house hold goods worth Rs. 25,000 to each couple, which includes a Mangal Sutra, a bed, chairs, a wall clock & steel utensils. Significantly, the organizers have arranged for beauticians and bridal dresses for brides and safari suits for bridegrooms. Gujarat Assembly Speaker GanpatbhaiVasava and Tribal Development Minister Mangubhai Patel will also attend the function.
