In his short address at the Diu airport today, PM Narendra Modi said that strengthening the hands of the poor was of top priority for the government. The PM said, “All our initiatives are aimed at strengthening the poor. The poor of India wants an opportunity to work hard and show the skills he or she have been blessed with.”
Shri Modi also said that women must be empowered and be given equal opportunities to shine. He also noted that Diu has a ratio of 1,000 males to 1,040 females. The PM also spoke about welfare measures being undertaken by the government for fishermen in the region.
