Addressing a massive crowd of supporters at Surguja, Bilaspur and Durg in Chhattisgarh and at Jalgaon in Maharashtra, on 20th April, Shri Narendra Modi strongly condemned the divisive politics of the Congress that had ruined the Nation, and affirmed that the people were ready to vote them out and bring in a new government that was stable and strong.
Speaking on how the people were tired of the false promises of the Congress, Shri Modi stated that this was the most important reason why the people had been rejecting them in various states, and in some cases, for more than 2 terms.

Addressing a rally in Jalgaon in Maharashtra, Shri Narendra Modi highlighted the misgovernance under the Congress-NCP particularly towards the farmers of the state. He remarked that despite the Union Agriculture Minister hailing from Maharashtra the condition of the farmers in the state is very poor. He urged the people of Maharashtra to elect all the Mahayuti candidates so that there can be a strong Central government in Delhi. He also said that except for the Mahayuti no other Party should open their account in the State.
Condemning the Congress President’s recent statement made in Amethi, wherein she urged the people of Amethi to take care of her son, as he took care of the Nation, Shri Modi questioned that if the ‘Son’ was incapable of taking care of Amethi, how would he take care of the entire Nation. “Yesterday Madam went to Amethi and her speech was shocking. She told people that Indira ji gave you her son, I gave mine. She asked the people of Amethi to take care of her son and said that her son would take care of the Nation. A son who could not manage Amethi, how will he manage an entire nation,” said Shri Modi.
Shri Modi stated how women were witness to heinous crimes across the Nation, and exposed the false claims of the Congress, wherein they made corpus funds for women’s welfare but never used them. He also spoke of recently released figures by the Central government which stated that out of the first 10 states witnessing most number of crimes against women, 7 were Congress ruled, and 3 were Congress allies.
He also emphasized on the rampant corruption that is intrinsic to the Congress government, and spoke of how they had looted the Nation through various scams. Shri Modi stated how the ‘one family’ had benefitted its own members at the cost of the Nation, and said, “We cannot save the nation with such people at the helm of affairs.” Shri Modi termed the Congress’ Manifesto as ‘Dhokha Patra’ which repeated the Party’s unfulfilled promises made in its previous years, be it in terms of giving employment or controlling the price rise.
Shri Modi further stated how even the Prime Minister of the country was unheard in his own office, while the Congress President was the final authority in all matters of national importance. This, Shri Modi said, had been clearly stated in the recently released book ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. The ineptitude functioning of the Prime Minister’s Office was further stated by Shri Modi when he said, “For the first time PM had to do a press conference to say what - that he spoke 1100 times in 10 years. Incredible! The PM's "performance" is that he spoke 1100 times in 10 years....can you tell me who can save the nation.”
In Bilaspur, Shri Modi spoke of how the Central government had stalled many initiatives of the BJP leaders in the region, since they were unconcerned of the State’s development. Shri Modi also recalled Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s initiative to form Chhattisgarh, and spoke of how Dr. Raman Singh had taken the State forward in the development journey.
Shri Modi spoke of how the Elections 2014 were about the Nation wanting to punish those who had ruined the Nation, and electing a government that would take the Nation forward. “The country is fed up with divisive politics, it wants development, it wants politics which can unite,” said Shri Modi.
Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly Shri Eknath Khadse and Maharashtra BJP President Shri Devendra Fadnavis were present at the Jalgaon rally, which was very well attended by people.
