Prime Minister Modi fondly recalled his first visit to Myanmar in November 2014 to attend ASEAN-India Summit and East Asia Summit, and his first meeting with President U Thein Sein in Nay Pyi Taw at the time.
Welcoming the recent visit of the Vice President to Bodh Gaya, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the importance of cultural ties, and the civilization links between the people of India and Myanmar.
Prime Minister and the Vice President discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral partnership in view of Prime Minister’s “Act East” Policy, particularly in the sectors of Connectivity, Education, Infrastructure, Trade, and Culture.
