Amid much excitement and religious fervour, Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, on Sunday, inaugurated Swarnim Navratri festival by lighting auspicious Deepmala.
Gujarat Navratri Festival Society hosts the longest dance festival of the world- Navratri Festival, from 8th to 16th Oct, at GMDC ground Ahmedabad.
The cultural Mega Event- Narayani Namostute, specially planned to mark Swarnim Navratri Festival, revolved around worship to Maa Jagdamba, Navratri is an opportunity to seek blessings by embracing Shakti Puja. More than 300 artists performed, the cultural mega event included dance-drama and multimedia presentation. The awe inspiring performances would remain a unique and electrifying experience for the audience. On the 3rd Navratri, CM also watched the presentation of Narayani Namostute programme. This had embraced nine different forms of Maa Jagdamba- paying emotional obeisance to Maa Saraswati, Maha Laxmi and Maha Kali, which really filled the air along with religious chants and many classical dance forms, such as Kathak, Bharat -Natyam and Kallari-Nrutya.
The much sought after Maniyaro Ras and Deevada Garbo, with hundreds of artists dressed in traditional costumes, remained the chief attraction besides the presentations made by the cultural groups belonging to different parts of Gujarat. People from Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Punjab, who have settled in Gujarat, also took part into the event. The inauguration session ended with Maha Aarati. The ambassadors of different nations with many other eminent personalities took an opportunity to offer reverence and respect towards Maa Jagdamba by joining the Maha Aarati. Splendid fire works went off which had really enthralled the viewers.
Prominent among those present are Revenue Minister Smt Anandiben Patel, Tourism Minister Shri Jaynarayan Vyas, Chief Secretary Shri A.K.Joti, Chairman Tourism Corporation Shri Kamlesh Patel, M.P and Chairman Gujarat Industries Navratri Festival Society Shri Parimal Nathwani , and many other State Ministers, Members of parliament- MLAs.
