Korea a crucial partner in India's economic modernisation: PM Narendra Modi

After his historic trip to Mongolia, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi reached South Korea on morning of May 18th for the final leg of his three nation tour. He received a warm welcome at the airport. A large number of people gathered to see the Indian Prime Minister.

PM Narendra Modi joined in for the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Seoul National Cemetery. He paid rich tributes to the martyrs there.

 

Shri Narendra Modi reached out to the Indian Community as he began his two-day tour to South Korea. There was immense enthusiasm in the crowd and was all set to welcome PM Modi. Speaking to the people he highlighted how the world’s perception about India that was rapidly changing.

Shri Narendra Modi was given a Ceremonial Welcome in Seoul. PM also met President of South Korea Park Geun-hye and held extensive discussions on varied sectors. They also witnessed signing of crucial pacts between both the Nations. Delegation level talks were also held.

Later, Shri Narendra Modi and President of South Korea Park Geun-hye addressed the Joint Press Statement. PM Modi expressed his pleasure to have got the chance to visit Republic of Korea in the first year of his Government. He thanked President Park for the warm welcome and hospitality. As he spoke, Shri Modi also regarded Korea as a crucial partner in India's economic modernisation.

India and South Korea agreed to move ahead and upgrade the bilateral relations between both the nations to ‘Special Strategic Partnership.’ The Prime Minister welcomed the decision to have regular cooperation between India’s and South Korea’s National Security Councils.
