CM announces development works of Rs.281 crore for Porbandar, Ranavav and Kutiyana talukas

4000 people fast with CM extending support to Sadbhavna mission

Sadbhavna mission will demonstrate before the nation the strength of peace, unity and harmony: CM

Chief Minister Narendra Modi announced development works worth Rs.281 crore for the Porbandar, Ranavav and Kutiyana taluka. Chief Minister announced this on Sunday in Porbandar where he sat on a daylong fast as a part of Sadbhavna mission. As many as 4,000 people from the coastal belt of Porbandar also voluntarily fasted with the Chief Minister to extend support to the noble objectives of Sadbhavna mission.

Thanking a throng of people for their support Chief Minister said that Gujarat has become a sort of laboratory which will show to the nation the strength of peace, unity and harmony. He said that growth is a herb that can remove all the ailments of the society and that growth is only possible with the atmosphere of peace. Other states would also have to recognize the power of peace, unity and harmony if they want growth. Secrete behind the growth of Gujarat, he said, is an atmosphere of peace, unity and harmony that is prevailing in the state.

Chief Minister pointed out that Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh, in his recent meet with his Pakistani counterpart, did not even mentioned a word about four and half thousand innocent fishermen who were nabbed with their boats and are in Pakistani jail now. He said that just a day back he has written a letter to the Prime Minister demanding a quick action in this regard. He, during his recent visit to China, had courageously raised the issue of 22 youths from Surat who are in the jail of China, he added.

Central government is also indifferent to the issue of price rise and to the pitiable situation of aam admi and aam aurat, even when the top of the tops of Delhi Sultanate is a woman herself, said Chief Minister.

Mr. Modi said that Gujarat is developing keeping in line with the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi. Giving examples of this, he said that state government has put in place about four and half lakh toilets in villages actualizing the Gandhiji’s principal of cleanliness. Gujarat has also recognized the role of women in the development and through lakhs of Sakhimandala the state is empowering the women. With a view to empower villages the state government has implemented the concept like Samras villages and launched various schemes and campaigns for the decentralization of power.

The more mud the anti-Gujarat elements try to spread, the more it will bloom the lotus, said Chief Minister.
