When Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes, he made it clear that the motive behind doing so is to empower the poor and make them active participants in benefits of economic progress. Prime Minister Modi said, “For development, our motto is Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas.” He highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the NDA Government for the welfare of poor and farmers.
