Governor Dr.Shrimati Kamla today inaugurated ‘Swarnim Gujarat Mega Exhibition’ at Mahatma Mandir here in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the eve of state’s golden jubilee year’s end.

 

The Mega exhibition spreading in the area of 2.5-lakh sq. ft. of Mahatma Mandir showcases state’s development and its potential for growth. The exhibition is open for people till May 6, 2011, from 4:00 to 9:00 evening.

Three domes are erected on the venue named as Tapi, Sabarmati and Narmda that houses various items showcased by different departments of the state government.

Water supply department has put hoardings, audio-visual mediums and electronic scrolling that display up-to-date details of water being supplied to the remotest villages of the state.

Maritime Board has put replicas of various ships among which LNG carrier model and ship of border security force are quite attractive.

Agriculture and Co-operation Department is showing scientific methods of farming while Rural Development Department talks about ‘Mission Mangalam’ and the benefits of water conservation.

Yatradham Vikas Board has put on display fascinating replicas of Ambaji temple, Jagat temple of Dwarka and Rudra Mahalaya of Siddhpur.

There are stalls based on Gyan Shakti, Raksha Shakti, Jal Shakti, Jan Shakti and Urja Shakti. Visitors can view the films that demonstrate the functioning of defence personnel fighting terrorism.

Various national and international awards bagged by the state government are on display. Details of awards received by Municipal Corporations of the state are also showcased.

Books like ‘Samajik Samarasta’, ‘Convenient Action’ and ‘Ankh Aa Dhanya Chhe’, penned by Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, apart from the books written on him are also in display.

Vidhansabha Speaker Shri Ganpat Vasava, Cabinet Ministers, MPs, MLAs, Chairmen of different Boards and Corporations, Chief Secretary Shri A.K.Joti, senior secretaries, high officials among others visited the exhibition.
