CM to address 24 Garib Kalyan Melas via video conference
Fifth round of Garib Kalyan Mela (GKM) will begin tomorrow, August 17. Chief Minister Narendra Modi will address 24 GKM of 52 talukas via video conference.Earlier the state government has successfully organized 869 GKM in four rounds, in which aids worth Rs.10,000 crore was handed over to more than 76 lakh poor beneficiaries. In the fifth round, Chief Minister will hand over benefits worth Rs.215 crore to 72,000 beneficiaries in the first phase in just one day.
During next three days the ministers and dignitaries will remain present at 910 taluka panchayat seats of 64 talukas in 10 districts and will throw open around 8184 village development works worth Rs.525 crore. In addition, for the first time, the state government will also felicitate about 18,392 former panchayat representatives. Besides, certificates will be given out to about 5000 young trainees who have successfully completed training under empower programme.
